Modern Structural Overhaul: Leicester Residential Suite

Transforming a traditional property into a contemporary open-plan space requires rigorous Structural Analysis. Our approach for this Leicester suite focused on maximizing spatial flow while reinforcing the primary envelope to exceed modern safety standards.
Technical Brief: To execute a 9-meter internal span using high-tensile steel beams, allowing for the complete removal of three load-bearing masonry walls.
Engineering Execution
Our phase-one implementation involved the temporary propping of the upper floors using heavy-duty Acrow shores. This allowed for the surgical removal of the internal masonry without disturbing the plasterwork or structural integrity of the floor above.
- Support Structure: Bespoke 203x203x60 UC (Universal Columns).
- Connection Type: High-strength bolted splice plates with anti-corrosive coating.
- Testing: On-site torque verification and deflection monitoring.
Precision & BI Integration

Using Business Intelligence principles, we tracked the material logistics to ensure the steel arrived exactly when the propping was verified. This JIT (Just-In-Time) delivery kept the residential site clean and safe for the homeowners during the build.
Project Conclusion
The result is a seamless transition between the original structure and the new architectural volume. By prioritizing the "invisible engineering" behind the walls, we provided the client with a space that is as safe as it is beautiful.
